Leadership is the capacity to influence others through inspiration motivated by passion, generated by vision, produced by a conviction, ignited by a purpose.

Over the past 10 years, KUZA has refined it's unique approach to transforming the lives of young people.

We have three distinct programs that are carefully woven to facilitate informed and renewed minds, transformed hearts and equipped hands of emerging leaders.

KUZA DISCIPLESHIP PROGRAM This program is for high school students and runs for two years. Since it is their first experience with KUZA, this program goes a long way in Christian discipleship and personal development of students.  The carefully selected students are educated in the best schools in Uganda, where KUZA works hand in hand with the schools to ensure their active participation and success in all areas of life. During holidays, they take part in intensive retreats that are a time of fun, family, team building and training aimed at filling the gaps within the Ugandan education system and equipping students with skills. The KUZA community has set high academic goals and life goals and helps students identify and pursue passion and ability driven careers through which to serve others. In their long vacation, graduates of this program are guided through and encouraged to take on a personal project to benefit their communities. With an excellent education, spiritual discipleship, mentorship and leadership training, the students who had lost hope are given a chance to not only dream again and have a bright future, but also to become the transformational leaders for their communities.

KUZA LEADERSHIP PROGRAM Under this program, we focus on university students. Building on the achievements of the Discipleship Program, we challenge our students to take their gifts seriously, develop them fully, and maximize them to fulfill their unique purposes. It is an intensive leadership development program that also involves committed mentors that lovingly walk with the students on a daily basis to prepare them to live responsible and responsive lives in their communities.   During holidays, our students take up internship and volunteer opportunities in their areas of study in preparation for the workplace. Through work camps, all KUZA students are given a hands-on experience and opportunity to answer to the needs of others in the community. If interested in hosting one of our talented students, contact the Executive Director at fred@wearekuza.org to arrange an interview.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM Through this program, we seek to fill in the gaps left by the theoretical formal education our students receive and help them acquire skills and knowledge needed for the job market. We aim at recognizing and tapping into the unique and creative abilities of each student, enabling them maximize their innovation potential and rise as social and economic entrepreneurs able to offer solutions to their communities and create jobs for others.  Students are helped to find internship and volunteer opportunities in their fields of study. These opportunities go a long way in providing the much needed skills through apprenticeship, on-job mentorship and experience to attain and retain jobs. In a country with a youth unemployment rate of 83% and at least 4000 university graduates every year, this program also seeks to challenge our students to be job creators not seekers. They receive sound financial literacy and business training to enable them become successful entrepreneurs. Through our Savings and Investment Club, our students support one another on the journey to break the cycle of poverty that has devoured our families and communities for ages.
